New WIP Gallery – Rathalos Armour Hunter

Here are few pictures of garage kit I’ve been working on recently.
It’s male hunter, blademaster in Rathalos’ armour from Monster Hunter franchise.
Originally Rathalos is red (though there’re variations like Azure, Silver, etc.), but I decided to go with another colour scheme. Mine is going to be moonstone. At least, that’s the plan.
As usual, I’m using acrylics.

Enjoy!

New WIP Gallery – Chimera

I haven’t painted any figure for a while!
I have few assembled models waiting for painting, it’s one of them.
Here’s Chimera, from Games Workshop. It’s plastic model version.
Cast isn’t greatest, it for sure has less details than any resin model they’ve made. On the other hand, it’less fragile. And that’s it.
Seams were pretty large and it took a while to finish prep-work.

But building part itself was rather straight-forward, so my WIP is going to focus on painting. Starting here:

Water Palette

I’m often getting distracted when I’m painting kits. This results in paints getting dry and wasted (since I’m using acrylics, which dries fast).
Once I’ve been browsing net for reference pics and I’ve found this idea on someone else’s blog. It turns out you can buy such wet palette, but since I’m broke – I decided to make my own.
Here’s short comic about that.

New Gallery – WWII German Machine Gunner 1/16

Tamiya’s WWII German Machine Gunner (greatcoat) in 1/16 scale.
Figure is hand-painted, using Vallejo’s acrylics, Mr. Metal Color (stainless steel) and chalk pastels were used to achieve weathering effects.
Thanks to my Boyfriend, I can show you those amazing shots.

Enjoy.
